PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

WHEREAS by the “Thistle Act, 1857,” it was amongst other things enacted, that it should be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland from time to time by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, to declare that the said Act should come into operation within any district and thereby to proclaim the limits of the district.

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers and authority in me vested, I, the said Superintendent, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said “Thistle Act, 1857,” shall, on and after first day of January next, come into operation within the Auckland Northern District; and the limits of the said district shall be—On the North, a line bearing due East from the Wairoa River, where it intersects a block of land, known as Baker’s claim, to the Wangarei River; on the East, the Wangarei River and Harbour, the Sea, and the Western boundary of the Wahu Portage; on the South, the Waitemata and Manukau Harbours; on the West, the Sea and the aforesaid Wairoa River till it joins the Northern boundary.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, in the said Province, the 31st day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven.

NOTICE.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 31st December, 1857.

No tenders having been received for the supply of Medicines required for the use of the Provincial Hospital, Lunatic Asylum, Gaol and Stockade during the six months commencing on the 1st January 1858, tenders for supplying the medicines required are invited to be sent in to this office on or before Saturday, 9th January, 1858.

MESSRS. Dinnin & Davis, whose tender for the supply of Rations required for the Lock-Up was accepted, having declined to undertake the contract, the tender of W. Morrin has been accepted.
