to wit.
WHEREAS a Writ under the hand of John Williamson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, bearing date the twentieth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven, hath been directed to me, Thomas Beckham, Esquire, Principal Returning Officer for the Province of Auckland, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently and in manner and form by law prescribed, one person to serve as a Member for the Provincial Council for the Suburbs of Auckland, in the place of Daniel Pollen, Esquire, resigned.
Now, therefore, I, the said Thomas Beckham, Esquire, Principal Returning Officer for the Province of Auckland, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the Suburbs of Auckland will be holden at the Supreme Court House, Queen-street, Auckland, on Tuesday the third day of February next, at noon, for the purpose of nominating one person to serve as a Member of the Provincial Council for the Suburbs of Auckland; and, in the event of a Poll being demanded for the candidates or either of them, such Polling shall take place on the following day, the fourth day of February next, at such Supreme Court House aforesaid, the voting to commence at any time after nine o’clock of the said day and to close at four o’clock of the afternoon of the same day.

who will in future carry it on as hitherto under the firm of BAIN, GRAHAME & Co. in Auckland, and JOHN ROBERTON & Co. in Sydney.

WITH reference to the above, we beg to intimate that we have this day entered into partnership with Mr. Walter Grahame, of Auckland, and Mr. John Roberton, of Sydney, and that the business hitherto carried on by us will, in conjunction with that formerly carried on by Mr. William Wright, in Sydney, and Mr. W. S. Grahame, in Auckland, be continued at the premises in Fort-street, under the firm of BAIN, GRAHAME & Co., and in connexion with that of J. HN ROBERTON & Co., Sydney.
