NOTICE

I HEREBY notify for general information,
that in accordance with the provisions of
an Act for granting a Representative Consti-
tution to the Colony of New Zealand, a writ
having been issued for the election of a
member of the Provincial Council for the
undermentioned Electoral District, to serve
in the place of Thomas Beckham, Esquire,
resigned; the Returning Officer of the said
District has returned the said writ with a cer-
tificate to the effect that the undermentioned
gentleman has been duly elected a member of
the Provincial Council for the said District.

Superintendent’s Office, Auckland,
16th December, 1856.

I HEREBY NOTIFY that in pursuance of
the power vested in the Superintendent
by the "Waste Lands Act, 1856," I have
appointed

Cormack Patrick O’Rafferty, Esq.,
to perform the duties belonging to the office
of Commissioner of Crown Lands within this
Province.

NOTICE

Waste Lands Office, Auckland,
16th December, 1856.

DEPASTURING LICENSES within the
proclaimed Hundreds will be issued
under the Crown Lands Ordinance, No. 1.
Session 10, and No. 10, Session 11, to all
persons being occupants of land under crown
grants, or in the case of Pensioners, Natives,
or Half-castes, by permission of the Crown,
applying for those Licenses on or before the
1st of January, 1857.

These Licenses are to be issued at a fee of
ten shillings and sixpence each.
