vited to the following Notice from the
Provincial Land Surveyor.

NOTICE.

Proprietors possessing lands in the Province
of Auckland, to which there is no access by
means of surveyed roads, are invited to furnish
me, in writing, with any information that may
aid the Provincial Government in selecting
the best sites for convenient lines.

Communications to be endorsed "Information
on Roads," and to be transmitted to this
office any time within three months from this
date.

Given under my hand at Auckland, in the said Province, the 25th
day of November, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.

WHEREAS a Writ, under the hand of
John Williamson, Esquire, Superin-
tendent of the Province of Auckland, bear-
ing date the twenty-fifth day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six,
hath been directed to me, Thomas Beckham,
Esquire, principal Returning Officer for the
Province of Auckland, requiring and com-
manding me to cause to be elected by and
from amongst the voter's duly qualified for
that purpose freely and indifferently, and in
manner and form by law prescribed, one
person to serve as a member for the Provin-
cial Council for the City of Auckland, in the
place of Thomas Beckham, Esquire, resigned :
Now therefore I, the said Thomas
Beckham, Esquire, principal Return-
ing Officer for the Province of Auckland,
do hereby, in pursuance of the said
recited Writ, give notice that a Public Meet-
ing of the Electors of the City of Auckland
will be holden at the Supreme Court House,
Queen-street, Auckland, on Thursday, the
eleventh day of December next, at noon, for
the purpose of nominating one person to serve
as a member of the Provincial Council for the
City of Auckland; and in the event of a Poll
being demanded for the Candidates, or either
of them, such polling shall take place on the
following day, the twelfth day of December
next, at such Supreme Court House aforesaid,
the voting to commence at any time after nine.

Maps shewing the position and extent of the
Village and Country Lands now offered
for sale, may be seen at the Waste Lands
Office, Princes-street, Auckland.

Also, the following plans may be seen as
under :—

At Mr. Scott's Inn, Mahurangi:—

A plan of the allotments for sale, and of those
open for selection in the Villages of Matakana
and Mahurangi.

At Mr. Henry's Inn, Wangarie Heads:—

A plan of the lots open for sale, and of those
open for selection, in the Village of Marsden.
