PUBLIC NOTIFICATION
By His Honor John Logan Campbell,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf by "The Cattle Branding Act, 1856," of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, I, John Logan Campbell, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province, do hereby constitute and appoint the Electoral District of the Bay of Islands, in the said Province, to be a district for the purposes of the said Act, under the name of "THE NORTHERN CATTLE DISTRICT;" and all the remaining portion of the said Province to be another district for the said purposes under the name of "THE SOUTHERN CATTLE DISTRICT."
Given under my hand, at Auckland, the fourteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby notify for general information, that I have under the powers vested in me in that behalf by "The Cattle Branding Act, 1856," of the Local Legislature of the said Province, appointed William Bartley, Esq., of Russell, to act in the capacity of Registrar of Cattle Brands for The Northern Cattle District, and Mr. Francis Dyer Rich of Auckland, to act in the same capacity for The Southern Cattle District.
