SATURDAY, the 24th instant, being the Anniversary of Her Majesty’s Birthday, I hereby notify that it will be observed as a holiday at the offices of the Provincial Government.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By His Honor John Logan Campbell, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
I HEREBY notify, for public information, that I have appointed Edward Leary, of Auckland, to be Keeper of the Auckland Public Pound, and Joseph Osborne, of Newmarket, to be Keeper of the Newmarket Public Pound.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this fourteenth day of May, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By His Honor John Logan Campbell, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf by “The Impounding Act, 1856” of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, I, John Logan Campbell, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province, do hereby estimate and assess the following rates for the ordinary damages which, under the provisions of the said Act, may be demanded and recovered, in a summary way, by the person in possession of any lands enclosed with such proper fence as therein described, and situate within ten miles of any public pound, without proof of special damages, for the trespass of any cattle thereon, that is to say:
