  1. The turnkeys and subordinate officers of the gaol shall never be absent without leave from the gaoler or visiting magistrate. They shall not strike any prisoner, or use provoking language. They shall obey all orders given to them by the gaoler. They shall bring nothing into the gaol without his knowledge and permission. They shall neither give nor sell anything to any prisoner, nor shall they convey to or from a prisoneranything whatsoever, without the knowledge and permission of the gaoler.

Visiting Days.

Relations of any unconvicted prisoner confined in this gaol will be permitted to visit such prisoners on Saturdays between the hours of 12 and 2, upon application at such times to the keeper; but on no other days, and at no other times, upon any pretence whatever.

No person will be allowed to visit any prisoner but in the presence of one of the keepers of the gaol, and no visit is to exceed the space of 20 minutes.

Correspondence.

All letters and communications (excepting as hereinafter specified) intended for any prisoner must be addressed unsealed to the care, and sent through the hands, of the head keeper, who is at liberty, if he thinks fit, to open such letters and communications. All letters and communications from the legal adviser of any prisoner will be received and delivered sealed, provided that every such letter or communication is signed on the outside by such legal adviser.
