SIR,—I have the honor to enclose for your information the accompanying copy of a Letter received by me from the Chief Commissioner of the Waste Land Board on the subject of the survey of the Waiau Block.

SIR,—I have the honor to bring to your notice, that enquiries for land in the Waiau Block, even from Sydney, are now a matter of frequent occurrence, and as no intimation has been received at this office when the plan is likely to be ready, to request your Honor will communicate with the General Government on the subject.

SIR,—In reply to your Honor’s letter of the 23rd instant, transmitting copy of a letter addressed to you by the Chief Commissioner of the Auckland Waste Lands Board on the subject of the survey of the Waiau Block; I am directed by His Excellency the Officer administering the Government to inform your Honor that the Surveyor, Mr. A. S. Ormsby, has the plan in a forward state, and has promised to have it completed by the end of this month.
