APPLICANTS for Land under the Regula-
tions of the 4th March, 1853, whose
Claims have not been defined upon the ground,
are requested to have them surveyed without
delay.

Waste Land Board Office,
Auckland, May 16th, 1855.

THE Undermentioned Blocks of Land are
hereby proclaimed by the Waste Land
Board, as open to selection as General
Country Land, on and after the 11th day of
June, 1855, in accordance with the terms of
the existing Land Regulations.

All the Land not reserved, not selected, and
not set apart as Special Occupation or Town
Land in the Parish of Karaka.

All the land not reserved, not selected, and

Land in the Parish of Mangatawhiri.

THE accompanying “Statements of the
Public Accounts of the Province of Auck-
land,” are published for general information,
namely—

1st. A Statement of the Receipt and Ex-
penditure of the Provincial Revenue from the
1st October, 1853, to the 30th September,
1854. Laid before the Provincial Council on
the 26th October, 1854.

2nd. A Statement of the Receipt and Ex-
penditure of the Provincial Revenue from the
1st October, 1854, to the 13th March, 1855,
inclusive. Laid before the Provincial Coun-
cil on the 3rd of April, 1855.

After Parliament moved to Wellington in 1865, the Auckland Provincial Council sat in General Assembly House (depicted).

It was nicknamed the 'Shedifice' as it was large and drafty, with a leaking roof. First premier Henry Sewell described it as 'a great wooden barnshaped affair, which might serve for a Hospital, a Jail, or a Barrack'.
