I HEREBY notify that I have appointed Mr. D. G. Smale to be Inspector of Slaughter Houses for the Auckland and Country Districts, vice Mr. George Rich, resigned. The appointment to date from the 6th instant.

THIS is to notify that a License has this day been issued to Mr. Charles Davis of Auckland, General Agent, to exercise the business or calling of an Auctioneer within the Province of Auckland, for the year ending the 24th April, 1856.

COLONIAL BANK OF ISSUE

Amount of Notes in Circulation at the Office of the Colonial Bank of Issue, Wellington, on Saturday, the 7th April, 1855, the close of the preceding four weeks, viz.:

Total amount of Coin held by the same Office on the same day, viz.:

I, Henry St. Hill, Manager of the said Bank, do hereby certify that the above is a true account of the Notes in circulation and of the Coin held by the said Office, as required under Ordinances No. 16, Sess. 8, and No. 14, Sess. 11.

The sum of twenty five thousand pounds (£25,000) sterling has been invested under the Warrant of His Excellency the Governor, in the public Funds in England, through the Commissariat Department, by arrangements made through the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty’s Treasury.
