GREAT SOUTH ROAD.
Provincial Engineer’s Office, Auckland,
4th Feb., 1854.
TENDERS will be received at this office until noon of Wednesday, the 15th instant, for the undermentioned works:—
- Making an Embankment across and Draining the Swamp near Mr. Dilworth’s property.
- Clearing away and breaking up the blocks of Scoria across the roadway.
- Repairing the Fascine Bridges across the swamps between Otahuhu and Papakura.
- Carrying the Road over the small swamp next Papakura River.
- Building a Timber Bridge over the Papakura River.
- Repairing the Bridge and approaches at Slippery Creek.
- Building a Timber Bridge over the second Branch of Slippery Creek.
Plans and Specifications of these works can be seen at this Office.

NORTH SHORE FERRY.

NOTICE.—On and after the first day of February instant, this service will be conducted according to the following arrangement:—
Time of Starting.
Monday
From Stoke’s Point, at 9, a.m.
Wednesday
From Auckland, 3, p.m.
Thursday
From Auckland.
Saturday
From the Creek near the Roman Catholic College, one hour before high water. From Auckland, to return after two hours’ stay.
Friday.—From the Sandspit near the Flag Staff, at 10, a.m. From Auckland, at 3, p.m.
Charges.
For each passenger, 6d.
For produce or luggage, for each 50 lbs. or portion of same above 100lbs, 6d.
No passenger to be allowed to put on board more than 200 lbs.

SPECIAL MEETING
of the Justices of the Peace for the City and District of Auckland will be held at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, at Auckland, on TUESDAY, the seventh day of March next, at the hour of twelve o’clock, noon, for the purpose of receiving applications for the Transfer of Publicans’ Licenses.
