TENDERS will be received at this Office until SATURDAY, 4th February, from persons desirous of contracting for forming and metalling that portion of the Onehunga Road extending from the end of the metal at Epsom to the Causeway at the end of Beveridge’s Section. Specification can be seen at this Office.

HARBOUR AND QUARANTINE REGULATIONS.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,

Auckland, Jan. 12, 1854.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance enacted by the Governor and Legislative Council of New Zealand, Session 2, No. 15, His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, is empowered to make such regulations (subject to the approval of Her Majesty) respecting the examination and licensing of pilots, the amount and payment of pilotage, and other matters connected therewith, as shall be deemed necessary for securing the good conduct of pilots, and the efficiency of the pilot service:

And whereas, by the said Ordinance, the Governor in Council is authorized to make regulations respecting the anchoring and mooring of vessels, the packages, landing, deposit, and removal of gunpowder; the erection of magazines for the safe keeping thereof, and the rent to be charged for the same;
