PROCLAMATION.
By CHARLES WILLIAM SCHULTZE,
Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session III., Number 4, Intituled “An Act to consolidate the Law relating to District Highways,” It was enacted among other things that the Superintendent might for the purposes of the said Act from time to time by Proclamation divide the Province or any part thereof into Districts, and might in like manner subdivide, alter or reunite the same.
And whereas it is expedient to Proclaim the portion of the Province hereinafter mentioned to be a District for the purposes of the said Act, Now therefore I, Charles William Schultze Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, Do hereby proclaim and declare that the following Block of Land comprised within the boundaries namely, towards the North by the Northern boundary of John Thompson's and William Quilter's selections and by the Northern boundary of Sections, Nos. 33, 31, and 30, Karori District; East by the Eastern boundary of Sections, Nos. 30 and 29, and thence by the Southern boundary of Sections, Nos. 29 and 32, to the Kaiwarra stream;
again towards the East by the Kaiwarra Stream, to the Southern boundary of James Short's two hundred acre selection; South by a line from the said Southern boundary of James Short's two hundred acre selection to the South-east corner of Section, No. 1, Makara District; West by the Eastern boundary of the South Makara District, and by a portion of the Eastern boundary of the North Makara District to the aforesaid Northern boundary of John Thompson's eighty acre selection, excepting such sections and portions of sections within the above boundaries as were included in the South Karori District, and more particularly described in Proclamation dated the Twelfth day of December, One thousand eight hundred and sixty, and that such district with the exception aforesaid, shall form and constitute a District for the purposes of the District Highways Act, and shall be called “The Karori District.”
GIVEN under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this Eleventh day of June, One thousand eight hundred and sixty one.
