PROCLAMATION
By Charles Brown, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.
WHEREAS by the “Ordinances Suspension Ordinance, 1860,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent with the advice and consent of the Executive Council from time to time by Proclamation in the Government Gazette, to suspend in districts to be named in such Proclamation the action of any of the Ordinances therein specified or of any section or provision thereof. And whereas by the “Executive Government Ordinance 1856, Amendment Ordinance,” it is provided that all things that may be done by the Superintendent and Executive Council may be done by the Superintendent acting on a resolution of the Provincial Council. And whereas it is expedient to suspend the operation of the following Ordinances specified in the said Ordinance within the districts hereinafter named. Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby, in pursuance of a resolution of the Provincial Council, proclaim and declare that the provisions of the
- Impounding Ordinance,
- Impounding Amendment Ordinance, and
- Fencing Ordinance, 1858,
shall be suspended within the Omata district; and the Upper Mangorei (Grey and Omata) constituted the 10th district, under the provisions of “The Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858;” and that such suspension shall take effect from the date hereof.
