NOTICE.

INFORMATION having been made on Oath before me that there is reason to apprehend danger to the lives and property of the European Inhabitants of this Province from the turbulent state of the Natives, the Magistrates have deemed it advisable to swear in the Male population as Special Constables.

All persons between the respective ages of Sixteen and Sixty are therefore hereby directed to attend forthwith at this Office between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and six o'clock in the evening to take necessary Oath, failing which the highest penalty of five pounds authorised by the statute in that case made will be imposed and levied.
