Remarks

A fine dry month, very warm at commencement, and until 20th, when a thunder-storm occurred, and subsequently the weather was cold, with strong easterly winds, and sharp night frosts. The mean daily temperature decreased from 60.4 deg. on the 2nd to 37.7 deg. on the 22nd. The thermometer fell below the freezing-point on no fewer than thirteen days in the month, and vegetation was materially checked towards the close. It was unusually advanced at the commencement.
