SOUTHLAND

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PROCLAMATION

By James A. R. Menzies, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Southland.

WHEREAS by a Warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, dated the sixteenth day of June, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one,

The house of Mr Gunn, Run No. 119, and
The house of Mr Freeman Jackson, Run 143,
were appointed Polling Places for the Mataura Electoral District; and
The house of Mr R. Grieve, Branxholme Bush, New River Hundred,
was appointed a Polling Place for the New River Electoral District: for the election of Members of the Provincial Council of the Province of Southland; and whereas it is expedient to abolish the same;

Now, therefore, I, the said Superintendent, in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby abolish the above-named Polling Places for the above-named Districts respectively, for the Election of Members of the Provincial Council of the Province of Southland.

And I do hereby appoint the following places to be Polling Places for the said Districts respectively:

For the Mataura Electoral District:

  • The house of Mr Gunn, Run No. 119.
  • The house of Mr Freeman Jackson, Run 143.

For the New River Electoral District:

  • The house of Mr R. Grieve, Branxholme Bush, New River Hundred.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province (L.S.) of Southland, this twenty-fourth day of December one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

PROCLAMATION

By James A. R. Menzies, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Southland.

IN pursuance of the power and authority in me vested in that behalf, I, the said Superintendent, do hereby appoint the following places to be Polling Places for the respective Districts, hereinafter specified, in the Province of Southland, for the Election of Members of the Provincial Council of the said Province, namely:

Oreti:

  • The House of Mr. C. Cowan, Run No. 146.

Wallacetown:

  • The House of Mr. R. Grieve, Branxholme Bush, New River Hundred.
  • The House of Mr. Freeman Jackson, Run No. 143.

And I do further appoint the House of Mr. C. Cowan, Run No. 146, to be the principal Polling Place for the Electoral District of Oreti.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province (L.S.) of Southland, this twenty-fourth day of December one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.
