UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO.

SCOTT SCHOLARSHIP.

THE Competition for the Scott Scholarship will take
place on the 1st of May.

The subjects for examination will be as follow:—
I. English, to which special prominence will be given.
II. Latin. III. Arithmetic.

In addition to the above, each candidate will also be
examined in not more than two of the following volun-
tary subjects:—Greek, one Modern Language, Geometry
and Algebra, Chemistry and Physical Science, Geography
and History.

The Scholarship is tenable for three years, and of the
value of £20 per annum.

The names of competitors must be sent to the Registrar
on or before the 28th of April, together with a notifica-
tion of the voluntary subjects selected. 2—14s


HIGH SCHOOL OF OTAGO, DUNEDIN.

BOARDING DEPARTMENT.

THE RECTORY, which occupies one of the finest
situations in Dunedin, and is surrounded by exten-
sive recreation grounds, has been specially fitted up for
the accommodation of Boarders. The rooms are lofty,
light, and well-ventilated, and everything has been ar-
ranged with a view to the health and comfort of the
pupils.

The Boarders are under the direct control of the
Rector, who, with the assistance of a well-qualified
Resident Master, superintends the preparation of lessons
at home.

The domestic arrangements are under the management
of Mrs NORRIE.

The terms for Board, Washing, and Superintendence
of Studies, are £40 per School session. The fees are paid
quarterly in advance. One quarter's notice is required
on the removal of a pupil.

The Quarter Days are April 26th; July 19th; and
October 4th.

Full particulars will be furnished by the Rector, and
