NOTICE TO AUCTIONEERS

Applications for Licensed or for Renewal of Licences for 1865, must be lodged at the office of His Honor the Superintendent on or before the first Tuesday in the month of December.

FURTHER postponement of Sale of Tolls at the

Lower Taieri Bridge and the Waihola Gorge Tollgates.—The Sale of these Tolls is hereby postponed until further notice.

TENDERS for Mail Steam Service between Otago and Melbourne.

Tenders will be received up to 1st December proximo, for the performance for six months from the 11th January, 1865, of the Mail Steam Service between Otago and Melbourne, at present performed by the Aldinga and Alhambra.

The conditions of contract, with the exception of the duration and notice of termination, will be the same as those of the existing contract published in the New Zealand General Government Gazette of 12th March, 1864.

Tenders endorsed “Tenders for Otago and Melbourne Mail Steam Service,” to be addressed to the Postmaster-General of New Zealand, in duplicate, and forwarded, one copy to Dunedin and the other to Auckland.

TOMAHAWK ROAD DISTRICT.—Meeting for Election of Road Board

The Ratepayers in the Tomahawk Road District having failed to attend the meeting for the election of Road Trustees for the year ending June, 1865, advertised in the Government Advertising Sheet, No. 11, Notice is hereby given that a meeting for the above purpose will be held in the house of Mr James Patrick, in the said district, on Wednesday, the 16th day of November current, at 6 o’clock p.m.

Special attention is directed to the 7th and 9th sections of the “Roads Ordinance, 1856,” regulating the proceedings for the election of District Road Boards.

ANDERSON’S BAY ROAD DISTRICT.—Meeting for Election of Road Board

The Ratepayers in the Anderson’s Bay Road District having failed to attend the Meeting for the election of Road Trustees for the year ending June 1865, advertised in the Government Advertising Sheet, No. 11.—Notice is hereby given that a Meeting for the above purpose will be held in the School-room, in the said District, on Friday, the 11th November current, at 7 o’clock p.m.

Special attention is directed to the 7th and 9th Sections of the “Roads Ordinance, 1856,” regulating the proceedings for the elections of District Road Boards.

IMPOUNDED

On the 3rd day of November 1864, by Sydney Smith, one Bull, red and white, no visible brand, owner unknown, for trespassing on Mr. Smith’s growing crop, for which no damages are claimed. November 4th, by Constable Carter, one white and red Heifer Calf, branded M I; one white Steer, branded H; one black Cow, with calf, branded J O; and in default of being released, the above Cattle will be Sold at the Public Pound, at Caversham, on the 1st day of December 1864, at 12 o’clock noon.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Sitting of the said Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil Business will be held at the Court House, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 1st day of December next, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons under Recognizance to appear as Prosecutors, Defendants, or Witnesses, are hereby required to give their attendance.

THE NEW ZEALAND BANKING CORPORATION (LIMITED.)

NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly, at the ensuing session thereof, for leave to bring in a Bill to be intituled “An Act to Incorporate the Shareholders of a certain Banking Company, called ‘The New Zealand Banking Corporation, Limited,’ and to enable the said Company to carry on its business, and issue Notes in New Zealand;” and that the objects of such Bill will be to incorporate the shareholders of the said Company by the name of “The New Zealand Banking Corporation, Limited,” with perpetual succession, and a common seal, to enable the said Company to sue and be sued in their said corporate name, to issue Promissory Notes in New Zealand, payable to bearer on demand, and to carry on, by means of a branch or branches in any part or parts of the said Colony of New Zealand, the different kinds of banking and other business specified in the Memorandum of Association of the said Company, and the Special Resolutions thereof, settled and agreed to on the second and twenty-third days of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

And notice is hereby further given, that copies of the said Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office within fourteen days of the commencement of the Session.

Dated this third day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
