DEPASTURING LICENSES WITHIN PROCLAIMED HUNDREDS

Colonial Secretary’s Office,

Auckland, 28th December, 1848.

His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor directs it to be notified that—in order to avoid the serious inconvenience which will result to individuals, from neglecting to apply within the prescribed period, for licenses to depasture Stock over waste lands of the Crown within proclaimed Hundreds during the year 1849—the period within which the Commissioner of Crown Lands is authorized to receive applications for the above described licenses has been extended to the 13th January next, after which period no applications for licenses for 1849 will be attended to.

Boundaries of Tamaki.

Bounded on the north by the northern side of a road running north of allotments Nos. 26 and 27, of Section No. 1; and by the southern side of country lot No. 42, on the west side of the River Tamaki.

Bounded on the east by the eastern side of allotment No. 28, of Section No. 1; by a portion of the western side of country lot, No. 40, and by the western sides of country lots, Nos. 41 and 42.

Bounded on the south-east by the western shore of the River Tamaki.

Bounded on the south-west by the shore of the Waipuna Lagoon, and by the southern side of a road running south of allotments Nos. 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, and 76, of Section No. 2.

Bounded on the west by the western side of a road leading from St. John’s College to Otahuhu.


Boundaries of Otahuhu.

Bounded on the north by the northern side of a road forming the northern boundary of sections of Nos. 1, 2, and 9.

Bounded on the east by Crown land, being the eastern boundary of sections Nos. 9, 10, 11, and 12.

Bounded on the south by the southern side of a road forming the southern boundaries of sections Nos. 7, 8, and 12.

Bounded on the west by the western side of a road leading from Panmure to Pukaki.


Boundaries of Onehunga.

Bounded on the north, by the northern side of a road running north of Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 32, and 34.

Bounded on the east by the eastern side of a road forming the eastern boundary of Sections Nos. 4, 8, 12, 16, and 27.

Bounded on the south by the shore of Manukau harbour.

Bounded on the west by the western side of Section No. 32.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of New Ulster, at Auckland, in the Province aforesaid, this twenty-seventh day of December, in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight.

PROVISIONS FOR HOSPITAL.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,

Auckland, 28th December, 1848.

Tenders will be received at this Office, until noon on Tuesday, the 9th January, 1849, for the supply of the undermentioned articles for the service of the Colonial Hospital, during the six months ending 30th June, 1849.

Brandy per dozen bottles
Wine, Port ...
Port ...
Vinegar per quart
Oil, Sperm per gallon
Dip Candles per lb.
Cotton Wick ...
Straw per ton of 2240 lbs.

The above articles are to be delivered at the Hospital at the expense of the Contractor, in such quantities as may be ordered by the Colonial Surgeon; the fresh meat, bread, and milk daily, but the other articles may be furnished in larger quantities, not exceeding a month’s supply at a time, as may be arranged between the Colonial Surgeon and the Contractor.

The quality of the articles to be subject to the approval of the Colonial Surgeon, who will have the power of refusing such articles as he may deem unfit for use; and in the event of the Contractor failing to replace them with other articles of a proper quality, the Colonial Surgeon will have the option of purchasing others at the risk of the Contractor.

Payment for the supplies to be made monthly.

Security will be required for the due fulfilment of the contract; and the tenders must be accompanied by a notification of the consent of the parties nominated as sureties. Any tender deficient in this respect, or not made out on the proper printed forms will be rejected by the Board of Officers appointed to open them.
