PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c. &c.

WHEREAS a Petition signed by a majority of the Resident Electors of the District of COLLINGWOOD, to the effect that such district should be withdrawn from the operation of "The Cattle Trespass Act, 1868," having been received by me, in accordance with the provision of Clause 8 of the said Act:

I, OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, aforesaid, hereby proclaim and declare that the District comprised within the boundaries of the Collingwood Road Board District, as published in the Nelson Government Gazette, No. 32, of 5th August, 1867, shall be and the same is hereby WITHDRAWN from the operation of "The Cattle Trespass Act, 1868," EXCEPT as to Clauses 1 and 6 of the said Act.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this Seventeenth day of January, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

CLAIMANTS to Sections in the Town of WESTPORT, under the awards made by the Commissioners appointed to adjust Claims to Compensation for encroachments of the sea, are requested to forward to this Office their original Crown Grants and other Documents necessary to establish their title to the Sections awarded.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
