this sixteenth day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-four.

LICENSES to SHOOT PHEASANTS and QUAIL will
be issued at this office on and after MONDAY,
the 18th instant.

PHEASANT AND QUAIL SHOOTING.

IT is hereby notified for the information of OC-
CUPIERS OF LAND that the provisions contained
in "The Protection of Animals Act, 1872," giving
persons the right to kill pursue and take game on land
in their bona fide occupation without a license, has
been REPEALED, and by "The Protection of Animals
Act, 1873," it is provided that NO person shall take
kill or pursue game unless he shall be licensed so to do
under the said last mentioned Act.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
