PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c.

WHEREAS, by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873," it is enacted that no native game shall be hunted, shot, taken, or killed in any part of the Province, except during such months as may from time to time be proclaimed by the Superintendent;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the said Province of Nelson, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby proclaim that Wild Duck, Teal, and Native Pigeon, may be shot in any part of the Province of Nelson during the months of April, May, June, and July, 1874.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this First day of April, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

THE Superintendent directs it to be notified that a Writ, issued for the Election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the Grey District, has been returned with a Certificate to the effect that

BERNARD M'GUIRE, of No-Town,

has been duly elected.
