Nelson, 16th November, 1867.
A NEW EDUCATION DISTRICT, to be called the EDUCATION DISTRICT of WESTPORT, is hereby constituted, the boundaries of which are the Town Boundaries of Westport as at present surveyed.

THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that in accordance with the provisions of the "Education Act, 1863," he has appointed Saturday, the 14th day of December, next, at 12 o'clock, noon, for the ELECTION of LOCAL COMMITTEES of EDUCATION for the following Districts, and that the Election for the several Districts will be held at the undermentioned places, viz:β
For the District of UPPER TAKAKA, at the SCHOOL HOUSE, LONG PLAIN.
For the District of LOWER TAKAKA, at the SCHOOL HOUSE, LOWER TAKAKA.
For the District of WESTPORT, at the COURT HOUSE, WESTPORT.

NOTICE is hereby given that a SITTING of the SUPREME COURT, for the despatch of business occurring under the provisions of the DEBTORS AND CREDITORS ACTS, will be held at the COURT HOUSE, PROVINCIAL HALL, on Monday, the twenty-fifth day of NOVEMBER, instant, at ten o'clock in the forenoon.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the twenty-sixth day of October, 1867.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Goldfields Act, 1866," it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, by Order in Council, from time to time to constitute for any Goldfield, or for any part thereof, Wardens' Courts, for the administration of justice therein, and to appoint Wardens of such Courts with power to act alone or with assessors, and in such manner and to exercise all or any of the powers hereinafter mentioned as the Governor shall think fit to direct:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony doth hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him for this purpose, appoint
JOSEPH GILES, Esq.,
to be Warden of all Wardens' Courts now constituted or hereafter to be constituted within the Nelson South-west Goldfields, with power to him to act alone or with assessors, and to exercise all or any of the powers vested in or imposed on Judges of Wardens' Courts.
This appointment to date and take effect from the tenth day of October, 1867.
