HIS Honor the Acting Superintendent directs it to be notified, for general information, that he has appointed the undermentioned gentlemen, viz.,
ROBERT POLLOCK,
JAMES CROWE RICHMOND,
JOHN BLACKETT,
to be Commissioners, for the purpose of collecting statistical and other information relative to the commerce of the Colony and of this Port, and to take evidence as to the best sites in the Nelson Harbor for a Patent Slip and Dry Dock.

THE Magistrates residing in the Waimea have determined on abolishing the Petty Sessions hitherto held once a fortnight at Richmond, and instead thereof to sit once a month in each of the Districts of Waimea East and Waimea South, viz :β
On the First Monday of every month at RICHMOND.
On the Third Monday of every month at SPRING GROVE.

NOTICE.
Marine Board Office,
Wellington, 27th January, 1865.
THE Light on Mana Island, Cook's Straits, will be exhibited on and after the 1st February, 1865. It is a fixed white light of the second order Dioptric, erected at the North West extremity of the Island, and is elevated about 450 feet above the sea level. The light will be seen in clear weather at a distance of from 25 to 30 miles.
