WHEREAS, by an Act passed by the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, in Session VIII, No. 6, intituled "An Act to provide for the protection of certain animals, birds, and fishes, imported into the Province of Nelson," it is amongst other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent of the said Province for the time being, from time to time by Proclamation in the Government Gazette to proclaim and declare that any animals, birds, and fishes, already imported into the said Province or which at any time thereafter should be imported or such of them as he should think fit and the increase arising therefrom should come under the operation of that Act.

Now therefore I, the Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by the said in part recited Act do hereby proclaim and declare that all deer and pheasants imported into the said province or which should be imported into the said Province, and the increase arising therefrom shall come under the operation of the said act.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, at Nelson, this ninth day of September, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the undermentioned orders of the Justices for the Alteration of Roads, under the "Alteration of Roads Ordinance, 1854," have been confirmed by the Superintendent and Executive Council.

  1. Order, dated 7th day of June, 1862, for the alteration of a certain road in the District of Motueka, described in the notice of John Chamberlain, dated 1st April, 1862.

  2. Order dated at Motueka, 5th day of July, 1862, for the alteration of a certain road in the district of Motueka, described in the notice of B. Macmahon, Secretary to the Riwaka Road Board, published in Gazette No. 10, of the 17th May, 1862.

  3. Order dated at Collingwood 4th day of August, 1862, for the alteration of a certain road in the district of Suburban Collingwood, described in the notice of Edward Dow, dated 19th day of June, 1862.
