PROCLAMATION.
By his Honour JOHN PERRY ROBINSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS, by a Proclamation of his Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, bearing date the fourteenth day of July, 1857, the Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "the Resident Magistrates' Court Extension of Jurisdiction Act, 1856," was, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, brought into operation in the Town of Nelson, from and after the 1st of August, 1857: And whereas it is by the said Act provided that the Superintendent of the Province within which any such Resident Magistrate's Court shall be situated, shall, by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of such Province, fix the days upon which such Court shall sit to hear and determine causes under the provisions of the said Act: Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Resident Magistrate's Court in the Town of Nelson will sit to hear and determine causes under the provisions of the said "Resident Magistrates' Court Extension of Jurisdiction Act, 1856," on MONDAY, the 7th day of September next, at Eleven o'clock, and on the first MONDAY of every month thereafter ensuing, at the same hour, and thence by adjournment from the aforesaid days respectively, until the business before the Court be finished.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this twenty-sixth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven.

HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified for general information that the following gentlemen have been elected under the provisions of the "Nelson Improvement Act," to form a Board of Works to carry out the said Act:—
Messrs. Charles Harley, Maxwell Bury, John Luck, Joseph Webb, Alexander Rankin, Nathaniel Edwards, and William Norgrove.
