All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

IN PURSUANCE and in exercise of the power and authority in me vested by virtue of a warrant under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, appointing me, Donald M'Lean, to be the Deputy of His Excellency the Governor for the purpose of directing the Officer Commanding the Napier Militia, to draw out for Actual Service the whole or any part of the men of the Militia in the said district, pursuant to the "Militia Act 1858," I, DONALD M'LEAN, do hereby order and direct, you, Major Charles Lambert, the Officer Commanding the Militia in the Napier Militia District, with all convenient speed to draw out for Actual Service the whole of the men of the Militia in the said district of the third class, resident in the Wairoa District, belonging to Company No. 9.
Given under my hand at Napier, this 19th day of October 1868.

In pursuance of an order addressed to me by His Honor Donald M'Lean, Esq., as Deputy of His Excellency the Governor, bearing date the 19th October 1868, I, CHARLES LAMBERT, Major, the Officer Commanding the Napier Militia and Volunteer District, do hereby call out for Actual Service the men of the third class of No. 9 Company of Militia, in the Wairoa District, within the District of Napier, the boundaries whereof are defined by an Order in Council, dated the 13th day of January 1859, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 3 of the 14th January 1859.
