PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS at a public meeting of persons duly qualified to vote in the Southbrook District, held on Friday, the 21st day of February, 1873, in the Wesleyan Chapel, Southbrook, it was declared by the votes of the majority of the persons present that they were willing that the district described in the Schedule hereto should be formed into an Educational District:

Now, therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby proclaim the said district to be an Educational District within the meaning of "The Education Ordinance, 1871."

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHBROOK DISTRICT.

Commencing at the north-west corner of section 1481; thence easterly along the southern boundaries of sections 1508, 983, 1275, 795, 505, 473, 53, 226A, 886, 444, and 926, to the south-easternmost corner of section 482; thence south-easterly along the road forming the southern boundaries of sections 431, 855A, and 355 to the River Cam; thence southerly along the said river to Young’s Road; thence westerly along the said road to Boys’ Direct Rangiora Road; thence southerly along the said Boys’ Direct Rangiora Road to the south-east corner of Reserve 126; thence westerly along the Ashley and Kaiapoi Road to the north-east corner of section 1579; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of that section to its south-east corner; thence westerly along its southern boundary to its south-west corner; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said section 1579 to the south-east corner of section 2460; thence westerly in a straight line along the southern boundaries of sections 2460 and 11015 to the south-west corner of the latter section; thence in a straight line southerly along the eastern boundary of section 6608 to the road running through section 6592; thence westerly in a straight line along the said road to the road forming the western boundary of section 6592; thence in a straight line northerly along the road forming the western boundaries of sections 6603 and 5543 to the starting point.


PROCLAMATION.

WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the 81st section of "The Canterbury Roads Ordinance, 1872," and by and with the advice and consent of my Executive Council, do hereby authorise the Heathcote Road Board to take upon itself the charge of the Bridge erected under the provisions of "The Heathcote Bridge Ordinance, 1862," and known as the Heathcote Swing Bridge, upon the condition that the said Road Board maintain the said Bridge in good repair.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
