PROCLAMATION

By His Honor WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Esq, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation bearing date the Third day of March, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, did prorogue the Provincial Council till the Twenty-third day of April, and the said Provincial Council did stand prorogued accordingly :

Now therefore I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, the Superintendent as aforesaid, in pursuance of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby further prorogue the said Provincial Council until Friday, the Seventh day of May, on which day I do hereby summon the said Provincial Council to meet for the despatch of business at the Council Chamber, Christchurch, at two o’clock in the afternoon.

Given under my hand at Christchurch this Fourteenth day of April, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

Christchurch, April 15, 1869.

His Honor the Superintendent, in pursuance of certain powers vested in him by “The Empowering Ordinance, Session II., No. 2,” directs it to be notified that the Footpaths hereinafter described having been well and sufficiently made and completed for the use and accommodation of foot passengers, according to the provisions of “The Footpaths Ordinance, Session VII., No. 12,” are hereby declared to be public footpaths, and from and after the date hereof shall be deemed and taken accordingly to be public footpaths within the meaning of the said Ordinance.

The said footpaths are as follows:—

On the road in continuation of Selwyn street, from the South Town Belt southwards forty-two and a half chains, more or less, between rural sections 72 on the west side, and 66 on the east side, to a road running easterly from the Lincoln road between rural sections 72, 66, and 17 on the north side, and 154 on the south side.

On the road in continuation of Montreal street, from the South Town Belt southwards, forty chains, through rural section 79.
