This Order shall take effect on the 25th instant, and shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette, and the Provincial Government Gazettes of the Provinces within the Colony.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the 24th day of August, 1866.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly, entitled “The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,” it is amongst other things enacted, that if any goods enumerated or described in the Table of Prohibitions contained in the 32nd section of the said Act, shall be imported or brought into New Zealand, then and in every such case such goods shall be forfeited, and shall be destroyed or disposed of as the Commissioner of Customs may direct:
And whereas in the said Table of Prohibition of Goods absolutely prohibited to be imported are included infected cattle, sheep, or other animals, and hides, skins, horns, hoofs, or any other part of cattle or other animals, which the Governor in Council may prohibit in order to prevent any infectious or contagious distemper or disease:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice of the Executive Council, doth in pursuance of the hereinbefore recited provisions of the said Act, by this present Order, absolutely prohibit the importation from the State of Panama into New Zealand of any cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, or poultry, and of hides, skins, horns, hoofs, and all other parts of such animals, in order to prevent the infectious or contagious distemper or disease, now prevalent in Panama among animals of the several kinds aforesaid, from spreading in New Zealand.

NOTICE.
Free Pardon to an Accomplice.

Wellington, August 15, 1866.
WHEREAS on or about Tuesday, the 22nd day of May last, one bag of fine beach Gold Dust, weighing 463 oz. 15 dwts., and one bar of Gold, marked “Bank of New Zealand,” weighing 204 oz. 15 dwts. 12 grs., were stolen from the Branch of the Bank of New Zealand at Okarito, on the West Coast Gold Fields, in the Province of Canterbury:
This is to notify that His Excellency the Governor will grant a free pardon to any person implicated in the robbery aforesaid who shall give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of any other person or persons who committed the robbery aforesaid.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
WE, the undersigned, ISAAC LUCK and CHARLES CLARK, carrying on business as Auctioneers and Commission Agents in Colombo Street, Christchurch, under the style or firm of “LUCK AND CLARK,” have this day dissolved our said partnership by mutual consent.
All outstanding accounts due to the late firm, must be forthwith paid to Mr. ISAAC LUCK, who will discharge all liabilities.
