in conformity with the Regulations for the disposal, sale, letting, and occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown now in force within the Province of Canterbury.
Applications will be received by the Waste Lands Board on and up to Monday, the Fifth day of March, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
His Honor the Superintendent also directs it to be notified that at the sitting of the Waste Lands Board, to take place as aforesaid, the timber on Reserves Nos. 285 and 286, in Duvauchelle’s Bay, Akaroa, will be sold by auction in accordance with clause 75 of the Waste Lands Regulations.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Land Regulations; viz.—
No. 427.—Fifty acres, more or less, situate at Wright’s Lower Camp on the Otira, having a frontage of twenty-two chains fifty links on the eastern bank of the Otira, and extending back a like distance, in a rectangular block.—For the uses of the Provincial Government.
No. 428.—Fifty acres, more or less, situate on the Waikamakiri River where the road from Hokitika strikes the Teremakau, being a square block of land.—For the uses of the Provincial Government.
No. 680, in red.—Twenty-eight acres, more or less, situate in the Lyttelton District, commencing at a point at the foot of the Cliffs, the same being fourteen chains north of the trig. station on Price’s Long Point; thence westerly, following a line at right angles to the Little River Road, a distance of about four chains to the low-water line of Lake Ellesmere, following that line in a south-easterly direction a distance measured in a straight line of about forty-six chains; thence north-easterly a distance of about eight chains to a point under the Cliffs, being thirty-two chains east of the before mentioned trig. station; and from thence, returning along the foot of the Cliffs, to the commencing point.—For a timber depot and landing-place.
No. 681, in red.—Two hundred acres, more or less, situate in the Lyttelton District, commencing at the junction of the Little River road with the road reserved between section No. 4073 and the flood line of Lake Ellesmere, following the last mentioned road, in a south-westerly direction, a distance of forty-seven chains, and extending back at right angles, in a north-westerly direction, to the low-water line of Lake Ellesmere, being bounded on the north-west by that line.—For a timber depot and landing-place.
No. 682, in red.—One hundred and fifty acres, more or less, situate on the Ninety-mile Beach, on either side of the road leading to the landing-place, being bounded on the north-west by the low-water line of Lake Ellesmere, on the north-east and south-west by lines parallel to and ten chains distant from the before-mentioned road, and on the south-east by a line at right angles to the last described boundaries, to include the above quantity.—For a timber depot and landing-place.
No. 683, in red.—Two hundred acres, more or less, situate on the Ninety-mile Beach, having frontage of forty chains to the Taumutu Road, and extending back northerly at right angles to the low-water line of Lake Ellesmere, being bounded on the north by that line, the landing-place being in the centre of the same.—For a timber depot and landing-place.
No. 684, in red.—One hundred and seventy-five acres, more or less, situate in the Ellesmere District, being bounded on the north by Reserve in red No. 208, on the east and south by Hart’s Creek and the low-water line of Lake Ellesmere, and on the west by a line ten chains distant from the said low-water line, and by the road leading to the landing-place.—For a timber depot and landing-place.
