to be notified that in pursuance of the
powers vested in him, he has appointed
JAMES DUPRE LANCE, and
ANDREW RAMSAY SCAVELL,
to be Inspectors of Cattle under the
“Diseased Cattle Act, 1861,” for the Province of Canterbury.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it
to be notified that he has made the
following Reserve under the 19th clause of
the “Waste Land Regulations,” for the
purposes of a Gravel Pit; viz:—
No. 304 in red.—Thirty acres, more or
less, situated in the Ellesmere District,
commencing at a point on the north-
west side of the road passing through
Section No. 5787; the same being
fifteen chains north-east of the north-
eastern corner of Section 6073, fol-
lowing along that road in a north-
easterly direction a distance of fifteen
chains, and extending back north-
westerly a distance of twenty chains
in a rectangular block.

NOTICE is hereby given that William
Henry Mein, of Christchurch, in the
Province of Canterbury, butcher, has by
deed, bearing date the Twenty-fifth day of
February, One thousand eight hundred and
sixty-four, and made between the said
William Henry Mein of the first part, Henry
Porcher Lance of Ilam, near Christchurch
aforesaid, Esquire, and John Campbell
Aikman of Christchurch aforesaid, Com-
mission Agent, of the second part, and the
several persons whose names are thereunto
subscribed, being severally Creditors in their
own right, or in co-partnership, or being
Agents or Attorneys of Creditors of the
said William Henry Mein of the third part,
conveyed and assigned all his real and per-
sonal estate and effects to the said Henry
Porcher Lance and John Campbell Aikman,
upon trust for all the Creditors of the said
William Henry Mein, and that the said
deed is now lying at my Chambers, Cathedral
Square, Christchurch, for execution by the
said Creditors.
Dated this Twenty-sixth day of February,
One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
