PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the 27th clause of the Constitution Act it is provided that every Bill passed by the Provincial Council shall be presented to the Superintendent for the Governor’s assent, and the Superintendent shall declare, according to his discretion, that he assents to such Bill on behalf of the Governor, or that he withholds the assent of the Governor: Now therefore I, SAMUEL BEALEY, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the provisions aforesaid, do hereby proclaim and declare my assent to the “Sheep Ordinance, 1863,” passed by the Provincial Council.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, entitled the “Trespass of Cattle Ordinance” Session XIV, No. 1, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent to cause Public Pounds to be erected and maintained within the said Province: Now therefore I, SAMUEL BEALEY, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the provisions of the above recited Ordinance, and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare, that the place or enclosure erected at the junction of King-street and Queen-street in the Town of Timaru, in the said Province, as set out on the map of the Chief Surveyor, shall be deemed and taken to be a Public Pound within the meaning of the above recited Ordinance.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this twenty-seventh day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.
