PROCLAMATION.
By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS, by an Act of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, passed in the nineteenth session thereof, intituled "An Act to consolidate and amend the laws relating to Slaughter-houses," it was, amongst other things, enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, by proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, from time to time to constitute and define Slaughter-house districts, and to appoint one or more public Slaughter-houses for each of such districts, and the limits of such districts, and the appointment of such Slaughter-houses from time to time alter or revoke as occasion may require.
And whereas John Williamson, the Superintendent of the said Province, did on the 3rd day of March, 1868, proclaim, constitute and define the town of Shortland to be a Slaughter-house district within the meaning of the said Act, the limits of which should comprise all those lands bounded on the west by the sea, on the south-west and south by the Wai Whuka Urunga Creek to the Church Mission Station, on the east by a line on a bearing of north 37° west from the Church Mission Station to the Karaka Stream, and on the north by the Karaka Stream to the sea.
And whereas the said John Williamson, as such Superintendent, did, on the said 3rd day of March, 1868, appoint the premises situate at Karaka Creek, erected by Mr. William Walters, of Auckland, and other premises therein mentioned, to be respectively public Slaughter-houses for the said district within the meaning of the said Act.
And whereas it is expedient to revoke such appointment of the premises at Karaka Creek, erected by Mr. William Walters. Now, I, Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby revoke the appointment of the Slaughter-house above described as a public Slaughter-house for the said district within the meaning of the said Act.
Given at Auckland under my hand and the public seal of the Province, this twelfth day of July, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.
