PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By EVERY MACLEAN, Esquire,
Deputy-Superintendent of the
Province of Auckland.
BY virtue of the powers in the Superintendent vested by the fourteenth section of “The Common Schools Act, 1869,” I do hereby notify that that portion of the Province of Auckland comprised within the boundaries hereunder described, shall be an Educational District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name of
THE MANGERE EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Beginning at the Manukau Harbour and bounded towards the north by the northern boundary of Mr. Daniel Lynch’s farm to the Mangere road; thence by the said Road to its junction with a road which runs from the Mangere road to the Pukaki Portage road, and along the aforesaid road to the Pukaki Portage road; on the East by the Pukaki Portage road to the Manukau Harbour; on the south and west by the Manukau Harbour; and again on the north by the Manukau Harbour to the point of commencement; including the Island known as Weeke’s Island.
And I do hereby appoint a Meeting of the resident occupiers of land and householders to take place at the School House, Mangere, on Thursday, the fifteenth day of July instant, at seven o’clock in the afternoon, to appoint a Chairman, elect a School Committee, and for the other purposes set forth in the fourteenth section of the said Act.
Given under my hand at Auckland, this ninth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.
