PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 27th May, 1869.

WHEREAS by a Notification published in the Provincial Government Gazette, of date the 7th May instant, I did cause it to be notified for general information, “that the period commencing on the day previous to the Public Landing of the Duke of Edinburgh at Auckland, and terminating on the day after His Royal Highness’ departure from this Port (both days inclusive)” would “be observed upon the Thames Gold Field as a period during which all lawfully occupied Claims” should “be deemed to be duly protected, within the meaning of the Gold Fields Regulations:”

And whereas it is expedient that such Protection should not extend beyond the twenty-ninth day of May instant :

Now, therefore, I do hereby declare that the Protection so proclaimed shall cease and determine on SATURDAY next, the twenty-ninth day of May instant, anything in the said Notification to the contrary notwithstanding.
