66 M Benjamin James 24 Fever (typhoid) 1868 Nov. 18 1868 Nov. 26 9 Admitted in advanced stage of fever of the typhoid type, marked by diarrhoea, tympanitic distension of abdomen, and rapid sinking. Peritoneum was found extensively inflamed, all the viscera were mutually adherent. Feculent effusion in the pelvis. The interior of the cecum was thickly studded with ulcers.
67 M Richard Williams 53 Phthisis pulmonalis Oct. 4 Nov. 29 57 Admitted in an advanced stage of pulmonary consumption. Indications of a cavity in the apex of right lung were verified on inspection after death. Both lungs indeed were tubercular.
68 M Jeremiah Murphy 43 Albuminuria Nov. 21 Dec. 17 27 Affected with general dropsy, the result of renal disease. He sank somewhat unexpectedly. Both kidneys were found twice the natural size and granular. Heart in a state of concentric hypertrophy. Mitral valve insufficient from interstitial deposit. Lungs congested, dark. Liver enlarged.
69 M Thomas Donnelly 25 Phthisis June 28 ... 19 175 This case was slow in its progress, and was complicated with diarrhoea. No examination was made.
