Chloroform was resorted to in aid of the taxis; convulsions ensued, and in a few minutes death. A sharp bony spiculum was found in contact with the brain.
25 M Patrick Smith 50 Phthisis pulmonalis Feb. 16 „ 23 96 In addition to the tubercular disease, had stricture of the urethra and recto-vesical fistula.
26 M Archibald Stewart 35 Phthisis pulmonalis Nov. 20 „ 23 184 Left lung found excavated into a vast cavern. Admitted with hemoptysis; cough; right side bulged greatly from effused serum; lungs full of tubercles in all stages; survived only five days.

32 M Thomas Colclough 60 Senile gangrene „ 2 „ 29 27 The disease commenced in the upper of the right foot about a month before admission, and the whole of the foot perished before death, which took place by coma. The arteries of the leg were found in a state of calcification.
33 F Martha Anne Betts 18 Acute rheumatism „ 1 Aug. 15 46 Soon after admission cardiac inflammation supervened, ending in general dropsy. The pericardium contained a pint of serum. Heart weighed 18½oz., and was overspread with fibrinous deposit, which lined the pericardium. Vegetations were found fringing the aortic and mitral valves. This patient had previously suffered from heart disease.
34 M Thomas Jenkins 28 Phthisis pulmonalis Aug. 13 „ 24 11 Had long been ill, and at length died suddenly from hemoptysis.
35 M Kerei Nga Mota 40 Scrofula „ 13 „ 25 12 This man presented on admission an immense gluteal abscess, which was found after death to have proceeded from caries of the lumbar vertebra.
