PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in the
Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act made and passed in the Parliament held in the fifteenth and sixteenth years of the reign of Her present Majesty, intituled “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand”, it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, by proclamation in the Government Gazette, to fix such place or places within the limits of the Province, and such times for holding the first and every other session of the Provincial Council, as he may think fit :—

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority in me vested in that behalf, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim and declare, that the twenty-second session of the Provincial Council shall be held at Auckland, and shall commence on Thursday, the twenty-eighth day of November, 1867; and the Members of the said Council are hereby warned to give their attendance at the said time and place accordingly.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this thirtieth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in me vested by the seventh section of “The Militia Act, 1858” I Sir George Grey, K.C.B., the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

THE HONORABLE DANIEL POLLEN,

to be my Deputy, for the purpose of directing, from time to time, as occasion may arise, the respective Officers Commanding the Auckland Militia Districts in any part of the Province of Auckland, excepting the Militia Districts of Tauranga and Opotiki, to draw out, for actual service, with all convenient speed, the whole or any part of the men of the Militia in the said District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander in Chief, in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand, and its dependencies, at the Government House, Wellington, this sixth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.
