PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, March 8th, 1865.
I HEREBY notify, for general information, that a Memorial signed by a majority in number of all persons having such interest in the Howick Township District, as is required by the “Highways Act, 1862,” praying that the operation of the said Act may be extended to the said District, has been received by me;
And I do hereby declare that the Highways Act, 1862, shall henceforth be in full operation within the said Howick Township District.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that all persons claiming a right to vote at the election of a Board of Trustees for the Howick Township District, under the Highways Act, 1862, are to send in their claims to Ponsonby Peacock, Esq., J.P., on or before the 1st day of April next, and that such claims must be in the form following:—

I hereby give notice that I claim to have my name enrolled as a voter for the election of the Highway Trustees for the Howick Township District, (as Landowner, Lessee, or Mortgagee, in possession, as the case may be) and that the particulars of my place of abode and qualifications are as follows:—

NOTICE.
THE Natives residing at Kauaeranga, district of Hauraki or Thames, having entered into an arrangement for the “prospecting” of the Gold Fields, there. Persons desiring to search for gold in that neighbourhood, are requested to make application to Mr. Macky, Junr., the Civil Commissioner of the district, who will, if he deems fit, furnish the applicant or applicants with a written permission to mine for gold.
Persons proceeding to the “Kauaeranga Gold Field” without such permission as aforesaid will be ejected by the Natives, and will be proceeded against, under “The Native Land Purchase Ordinance.”
Persons receiving authority to search for gold at Kauaeranga, will be expected to report the result of their investigations to the Government.

TENDERS FOR AWITU FERRY SERVICE.

Auckland, 6th March, 1865.
TENDERS will be received at this office until noon of MONDAY, the 20th inst., for the performance of the Ferry Service, between Awitu and Onehunga.
A specification of the conditions of the service may be seen on application at this office.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Awitu Ferry Service.”

COMPENSATION.
I THOMAS BECKHAM, Esq., by virtue of a Commission under the hand of Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, dated at Government House, Wellington, in the said Colony, the fourth day of March 1863, do hereby give notice that a Court will be opened at “Graham’s Buildings, Waterloo Quadrant,” on Monday, the 13th of March 1865, for the purpose of investigating all claims for compensation in respect of losses sustained by the Rebellion within the Province of Auckland since the 11th day of July 1863, and also in respect of certain other losses occasioned by Rebel Natives to persons who were wrecked in the steamer Lord Worsley on the Taranaki Coast in 1862.”
Claimants are required to deliver to the Commissioner a detailed account of their losses, with as little delay as possible.
