most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c.
WHEREAS the land hereinafter mentioned has been acquired by purchase, from the Aboriginal inhabitants of New Zealand, and it is expedient that the acquisition thereof should be notified by Proclamation accordingly.
Now, therefore, I, the Governor, do hereby proclaim and notify that the Native Title has been extinguished over the Block of Land whereof the boundaries are mentioned or described in the Schedule hereunto annexed.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, at Government House, at Auckland, this ninth day of July, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight.

Part of the Mata Reserve, estimated to contain 1500 Acres.
BOUNDARIES.
A line commencing at a point a little below the rapid of Opotoru, which was marked by the surveyors, thence on along Mr. Rogan’s survey line till it crosses the road to Aotea, thence on to the end of the said survey line, and on to Paraoa, it then goes in a Southerly direction till it arrives at Ti Korunui, thence in a straight line till it meets the boundary line of Ruapuke and Karioi, it then goes in a Northerly direction along the old boundary line (Karioi) to a point a little below the rapid of Opotoru, where the boundary closes.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that so much of the notices of the 14th and 24th July, 1857, published in Gazettes Nos. 18 and 19 of the 14th and 27th July, 1857, as relates to the authority given to certain officers to grant licenses for the importation of arms, has been revoked, and that the Colonial Treasurer, to whom all applications for the future must be made, is the only person authorised to grant licenses for the importation of arms into the Provinces of Auckland and New Plymouth.
