PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor JOHN LOGAN CAMPBELL, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS by an Act made and passed in the Parliament holden in the fifteenth and sixteenth years of the reign of her present Majesty, intituled “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, by proclamation in the Government Gazette, to fix such place or places within the limits of the Province, and such times for holding the first and every other Session of the Provincial Council, as he may think fit.
Now, therefore, pursuant to the authority in me vested in that behalf, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim and declare that the fifth Session of the Provincial Council shall be held at Auckland, and shall commence on Monday, the 28th day of January instant, and the members of the said Council are hereby warned to give their attendance at the said time and place accordingly.
Given under my hand at Auckland, this tenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.

I HEREBY notify that I have appointed WILLIAM BARTLEY, Esquire, to be Inspector of Police for the District of the Bay of Islands, vice JAMES REDDY CLINTON, Esquire. The appointment to date from the 8th instant.

PERSONS desirous of Tendering for reforming the approach to the Punt at Panmure, may see Plans and Specifications at this Office.
Tenders to be sealed and delivered on or before noon of Saturday the 19th inst., endorsed “Tender for approach to Panmure Ferry.”
Tenders are to be accompanied by a statement signed by two competent persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of the Tender being accepted, to become sureties for its due performance by entering into a Bond, the penalty of which will be equal to the estimated amount of the whole.
